WHEN I WAS WORKING FOR THE BLM I HELPED RECORD MANY SITES THAT WERE OF AN HISTORIC NATURE NEAR AND AROUND WICKENBURG. ONE LARGE SITE WAS WEAVERSVILLE WHICH WAS AT ONE TIME THE STATE'S CAPITAL @ 1860'S. THIS HISTORIC TOWN HAD OVER 20 HOUSES, SOME MADE OF ADOBE BY THE CHINESE WORKERS DURING THEIR ASSISTANCE TO THE PIONEERS WHO WERE MINING FOR GOLD. I WORKED WITH A GROUP OF ORV FOLKS TO HELP REPAIR A HOUSE AND CLEAR VEGETATION FROM THEIR CEMETARY. DURING OUR FOOD FEAST THAT NIGHT WE HAD AN OLD TIMER MINER COME TELL THE GROUP HIS STORIES ABOUT MINING. IT WAS A FUN EVENT.
IT TOOK ME SOME TIME TO RECORD THIS ENTIRE SITE AND DRAW SOME OF THE BUILDINGS AND TO DESCRIBE THEM AS WELL AS THE HISTORIC BOTTLES AND CANS.
THERE WAS AN ONGOING MINING OPORATION THERE AT THE TIME AND THEY WERESTILL FINDING SIGNIFICANT PIECES OF GOLD.
