I TOOK MY MOM TO THE SONOMA COUNTY MUSEUM IN SANTA ROSA WHEN I WAS TAKING CARE OF HER IN 2005. WE ENJOYED GOING TO THE MUSEUM AND MEETING SOME OF THE SCULPTORS AND ARTISTS. THEY HAD AN ENTIRE MUSEUM FILLED WITH CONTEMPORARY ART OF NATIVE AMERICANS. IT WAS VERY INTERESTING AS THEY COMBINED SOME FLAMBOYANT COLORS THAT REPRESENTED THEIR ABILITY TO HAVE THEIR SPIRIT IN THEIR ART. I ENJOYED THE FACT THAT THE ARTISTS SPOKE ABOUT THEIR WORK AND HOW THEY GOT INTO THEIR MEDIUM. THEY ALSO SPOKE ABOUT WHY THEY HAVE STAYED IN THE ART FIELD. THERE WERE SOME CUPS MADE OF POTTERY AND THEY ADDED SOME METAL WORK TO THEM. IT WAS INTERESTING HOW THE ARTISTS USED A LARGE VARIETY OF METAL, STONES, GEMS, CERAMICS, PAINTS, AND PAPER TO MAKE THESE OBJECTS.
IT WAS A GOOD EXPERIENCE FOR BOTH OF US.
