IN 2007 WHEN I WAS TAKING CARE OF MY MOM, OUR FAMILY DECIDED TO GO TO THE GREEK FESTIVAL IN IGNACIO IN THE SUMMER. WE SAW IT ADVERTISED IN THE PAPER. IT IS A HUGE WHITE CHURCH ATOP A HILL. THERE WERE ALL AGES OF PEOPLE THERE AND LOTS OF CRAFT BOOTHS, FOOD, AND SESSIONS FOR LEARNING TO USE VARIOUS INSTRUMENTS SUCH AS ACCORDIONS, VARIOUS STRINGED INSTRUMENTS AND HAMMERED DULCIMER. IT LASTED ALL DAY. AFTER DINNER THEY HAD LOTS OF DANCING AND MUSIC. THEIR FOOD IS VERY RICH AND HEAVY. MY SON HAD MUKASA FOR THE FIRST TIME AND HE LIKED IT. HE DECIDED TO MAKE SOME FOR ONE OF HIS HIGH SCHOOL CLASSES. MY MOM AND I LOVED THE UNIQUE SEQUINED PURSES THEY HAD AND SHE BOUGHT ONE.
MY HUSBAND AND I DID A LITTLE DANCING AND OUR TEENAGER FELT OUT OF PLACE. THERE WERE QUITE A FEW OF TEENS THERE THOUGH. IT WAS A GREAT EVENT TO ATTEND AND WE LEARNED A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE LANGUAGE WHICH IS DIFFICULT. WE HAD ATTENDED A FESTIVAL LIKE THIS IN PHOENIX LONG AGO.
