WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I WERE IN GRADUATE SCHOOL WE FOUND A SMALL PUPPY AT THE LAUNDROMAT WHICH HAD NO CARETAKER. WE CALLED HER ROSY AND BROUGHT HER HOME WITH US WHERE WE WERE SHARING A HOUSE IN PHOENIX. OUR OTHER ROOM MATE HAD AN ADULT DOG. WE KEPT THEM BOTH INDOORS AND WALKED HER AS WELL. SHE WAS PART WHIPPET AND LABRADOR. WHEN FULL GROWN SHE WEIGHED ABOUT 15 POUNDS. SHE COULD RUN VERY FAST! WE LET HER RUN IN SOME OF THE PARKS.
WE TOOK HER HIKING AND BROUGHT HER IN AN AIRPLANE WHEN WE WENT BACK EAST TO GARY'S HOUSE. THAT WAS A MISTAKE. IT WAS TOO NERVE WRACKING FOR HER.
ONCE THERE SHE HAD A GOOD TIME. IT WAS CHRISTMAS AND WE WENT TO WALK HER IN THE SNOW. WE ALSO TOOK HER WITH US IN THE WINNEBAGO THAT WE WERE GIVEN AFTER GARY'S MOM GOT A NEW ONE. WE WENT TO WILLIAMSBURG. SHE LIKED TO GO CAMPING WITH US AND WE TOOK HER TO THE FOREST SERVICE IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA FROM PHOENIX WHERE WE BOTH WORKED. SHE LOVED TO ROAM THE LITTLE TOWN WE LIVED IN CALLED TENNANT. IT WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A PINE AND DOG FIR FOREST. SHE LIKED CHASING SQUIRRELS AND DEER. AND SHE LIKED CATCHING PINE CONES WHEN WE THROUGH THEM IN THE AIR.
SHE WAS LIKE A CHILD TO US. ONCE WE RETURNED TO PHOENIX AND STAYED WITH OUR FRIENDS TO FIND ANOTHER HOUSE TO RENT SHE RAN AWAY. I'M SURE SOMEONE FOUND HER AS SHE HAD A GREAT MANNER AND PERSONALITY.
