SUDDEN OAK DISEASE WAS RECOGNIZED IN 1995 NORTH AND SOUTH OF SAN FRANCISCO AND IN SOUTHWEST OREGON. IT IS A PATHOGEN FOUND IN CALIFORNIA AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DISEASE CALLED PHYTOPHTHORA RAMORUM AND IS FOUND IN GERMANY AND IN DENMARK.
IT ATTACKS OTHER PLANTS SUCH AS RHODODENDRONS IN CALIFORNIA AND IT IS A HUGE DANGER TO THE OAKS. I THINK SOME SCIENTISTS WILL BE ABLE TO FIND A SOLUTION TO STOP THIS DISEASE SPREADING IN THE FUTURE.
I HAVE SEEN IT KILL OAKS IN LESS THAN A MONTH.
