MY JEWELRY

I FOUND OUT THAT I HAVE BEEN GIVEN MY GRANDMOTHER'S GOLD CROSS AND LOCKET. I FOUND THE GOLD CROSS IN THE CENTER OF ONE OF MY STORAGE UNITS. MY AUNT ROSEMARIE GAVE ME HER GOLDEN LOCKETT WHICH WAS IN A BOX. IT IS WORTH $2500 AS I TOOK IT TO A JEWELER! I STRUNG THE CROSS AND GOLD LOCKET ON A PIECE OF LEATHER AND ALSO ADDED A CARVED BONE FISH TO DESIGNATE THAT I AM PART CHINESE. MY GRANDMOTHER AND GRANDFATHER WERE BORN IN AUSTRIA. MY MOM HAS VISITED THAT COUNTRY WITH MY BROTHER AND I THINK THEY TRIED TO FIND THE HOUSE THAT OUR GRANDMOTHER LIVED.

MY JEWELRY IS VERY VALUABLE AND I USED TO WEAR MY NECKLACE ALL THE TIME TO CHURCH. I WAS BAPTIZED WITH AN OLD GIRLFRIEND IN 7TH GRADE IN AN EPISCOPAL CHURCH IN TROY, OHIO. WE EXPERIENCED VARIOUS CHURCHES THROUGHOUT THE CITY AND I BELIEVE SHE WAS ALSO BAPTIZED. I REMEMBER VISITING MY GRANDMA WHEN I WAS IN GRADE SCHOOL IN MILWUKEE. SHE WAS A GREAT COOK AND MOM. SHE HAD FOUR CHILDREN WHICH IS AMAZING TO ME. I DON'T REMEMBER HER WEARING MUCH JEWELRY BACK THEN, BUT I KNOW THE WENT TO CHURCH OCCASIONALLY. I WILL OF COURSE PASS MY JEWELRY ON TO THE NEXT GENERATION.

MY MOTHER HAS ALSO GIVEN ME SOME OF HER ANTIQUE JEWELRY AND HAD A JEWELER MAKE ME SOME SPECIAL EARRINGS WITH DIAMONDS AND SILVER OLMEC HEADS! I WILL KEEP HER OLD JEWELRY AS WELL. MANY WOMEN SAY THAT THEY ARE NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT THEIR JEWELRY.
