HOUSE ON THE ROCK MUSEUM

THIS HUGE RAMBLING MUSEUM WAS CREATED BY A MAN WHO ROAMED ACROSS MANY COUNTRIES. I GUESS HE HAD INHERITED QUITE A BIT OF MONEY AND NEVER HAD A FAMILY. I DROVE MY MOM AND SON THERE WHEN WE VISITED HER ONE EASTER. SHE WAS IN A WHEELCHAIR AND IT DOES TAKE ABOUT 3 HOURS TO GO THROUGH THIS MAZE OF ROOMS. YOU CAN EASILY GET LOST AS WELL, WHICH WE DID. IT IS SORT OF A WINDOWLESS UNDERGROUND MUSEUM, EXCEPT FOR THE HOUSE ON THE ROCK - HIS HOME. ONE ROOM IS FULL OF VICTORIAN DOLLS. ANOTHER ROOM IS FULL OF CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS, AND ANOTHER ONE HAS ANGELS HANGING FROM THE CEILING. YOU DO HAVE TO TAKE A REST AND GO OUT INTO THE FRESH AIR OR YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE TRAPPED - IT'S A REALLY DARK MUSEUM. WE THEN WENT TO A CHINESE ROOM WHERE THEY HAD A LOT OF WOODEN AND PAINTED PUPPETS MOVING ON A STAGE. YOU COULD PUT A QUARTER INTO A MACHINE AND LISTEN TO A MOVEABLE PUPPET FROM CHINA GO IN AND OUT OF THEIR HOUSE AND IT PLAYS SOME MUSIC. IT IUS QUITE AN INTERESTING DISPLAY THAT IS NO WHERE ELSE.

ANOTHER ROOM IS A CIRCUS ROOM WHERE ALL KINDS OF PAINTED ANIMALS OF WOOD ARE THERE. IT MAKES YOU FEEL AS IF YOU ARE PART OF THE CIRCUS AS YOU TRAVEL UP AND DOWN A RAMP.

IT IS A VERY UNUSUAL MUSEUM.
