CRATER LAKE CAMPING

OUR FAMILY USED TO HIKE AND TRAVEL UP TO CRATER LAKE IN OREGON. WE BROUGHT OUR OWN FOOD AND PITCHED A TENT VS. STAYING IN THERE HUGE OLD LODGE. IT IS A FUN OLD LODGE THAT HAS A BIG FIREPLACE. EVEN IN THE SUMMER IT IS COLD AT CRATER LAKE. WE HAVE MADE THIS TRIP A NUMBER OF TIMES. WE HAVE GONE ON THE HIKE DOWN TO THE LAKE WHERE THERE ARE BOATS THAT TAKE YOU AROUND THE LAKE. THERE ARE MANY WATERFALLS AND YOU CAN WALK AROUND THE LITTLE ISLAND IN THE CENTER OF THE CRATER. WE USUALLY GO ON MANY HIKES AROUND THE CRATER. IT IS A VERY WINDY PARK AND WE STILL LOVE TO HIKE IN THIS UNUSUAL PLACE.

THE ENVIRONMENT HAS SOME WOLVES, ELK, DEER, BOBCATS, AND BEAR, SO YOU MUST PROTECT YOUR FOOD FROM THESE ANIMALS AS YOU CAMP!

WE HAVEN'T SEEN MANY OF THESE ANIMALS BUT THEY HAVE BEEN NOTED THERE. IT IS A GREAT PLACE TO HIKE AND MANY FOREIGNERS COME THERE FROM ALL AREAS.
