SHILOH PARK HIKE TODAY

TODAY I HIKED A DIFFERENT TRAIL AT SHILOH - IT WAS THE RIDGE TRAIL WHICH HAD SEVERAL NICE BENCHES AND IT WAS VERY STEEP UP AND DOWN. I SAW SEVERAL DEER AND I NOTED SEVERAL RUNNERS, AND I SAW AND HEAR A GREY EGRET AND AN OWL. I ALSO SAW GEESE AND I MET A GROUP OF CHILDREN WHO WERE FROM A PRIVATE SCHOOL.

THE ENERGY OF THE PARK WAS GOOD - IT MADE ME FEEL GOOD TO BE OUT UNDER THE TREES. IT WAS VERY HOT AND I WORE SOME BIG BOOTS SINCE IT HAD RAINED SEVERAL DAYS AGO AND CARRIED A BIG BACKPACK WHICH BURDENED MY BACK.

THE PARK HAD DECIDED TO SPRAY THE POISON OAK WHICH I THINK IS NOT A GOOD IDEA. THEY HAD POSTED THAT THEY HAD SPRAYED PESTICIDE ON THE VEGETATION- MAKING IT UNFIT TO PICK OR EAT ANY OF THE MINERS LETTUCE OR BLUE DICKS OR HARVEST LILIES.

OH WELL I HOPE THE PARKS DON'T CONINUE TO DO THIS!
